The Fourth World Poetry Canada International Peace Festival October 1-27 with displays, UBC, SFU, UBC Learning Exchange, New Westminster Public Library, and the Britannia Library. Book launches and a Peace and Human Rights Film festival will be celebrating the African Award Winners and welcoming them to Vancouver. Each winner has been recommended and carefully chosen.

Mr. Hawkins told me that he had been involved with poetry since his sophomore year at Notre Dame. He was fortunate to have an English Literature professor who specialized in poetry and told us that he would “make it sing in our souls.” In Mr. Hawkins, it succeeded and poetry “still sings in his soul.”
