Coquitlam, B.C. -based Shiloh Place Orphanage Society (www.shilohplace.ca ) is holding a used clothing and household goods collecting drive in South Coquitlam, until Saturday July 27th , in support of their small, low-barrier elementary school in Lubumbashi, DRC. 120 girls and boys attend classes there. Some are orphans living with extended family. Others are from very low-income families in the neighbourhood.

The “Clean Out Your Closet” campaign is looking for gently used, clean adult/ teen/ children’s clothing; accessories such as belts, shoes, scarves, handbags; household items such as dishes, glasses, pots & pans, hand-held appliances; household textiles such as bedding, towels, tablecloths, pillows; home decorative items, toys, games and puzzles. Books, DVD’s and CD’s are also welcome. To support Shiloh Place Orphanage Society’s school, drop-off your items between 9:00AM and 3:00 PM Saturday July 27th at Unit W 1084, Sentinel Storage, 1055 Lucille Starr Drive, Coquitlam (off Schoolhouse St.) Please use bags for clothing and textiles and boxes for household goods and media items. Questions? Need boxes or bags? Contact Shelagh, 604-415- 9397, shelaghag@shaw.ca before July 25th.

Don’t drive but have items to donate? Please call Shelagh 604-415-9397 or shelaghag@shaw.ca before July 25. We will try to arrange for a volunteer to pick your donated items up at a mutually convenient time.

The children of Shiloh Place School in the DRC, their teachers and families, and our volunteers here thank you for considering “Cleaning Out Your Closet” for the school!
