Kent County was well represented at the 2024 Emera Blue Nose Marathon spanning Halifax-Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Bluenosers walk, run, wheel and participate virtually to fundraise for healthy living and healthy lifestyles.
To honour Captain Millard Goldsmith, a commemorative metal was accepted by his much-younger sister, Dawn Upshaw, as acknowledgement of the community contributions made by Millard.
Originally of Ardmore, PA, USA, Millard settled in Grande-Digue, New Brunswick, in his eco-friendly stone and glass house. He was a member of the local dance club and assisted with fundraising for nutritious school lunches.
Millard counts his greatest success as his daughter, Reba, and her son.
Upon his wishes, Captain Millard Jason Goldsmith was cremated and his ashes scattered without ceremony in the saltwater nearest the crematorium.
