CJMAS Announces Fundraising Walk in Conjunction with Vancouver Sun Run Event Surrey, BC March 10, 2024 – Canadian Jamaican Medical Assistance Society (CJMAS), a prominent charity dedicated to promoting health and education initiatives in Jamaica, is excited to announce its virtual participation in the upcoming Vancouver Sun Run via its annual special fundraising walk on Saturday, April 20th, 2024, at Barnston Island. This fundraising effort aims to engage the community in supporting CJMAS’s charitable causes while promoting physical activity and bonding between family, co-workers, and friends.

The CJMAS Legacy Walk invites individuals, friends, families, and co-worker to join in solidarity with the charity’s mission by participating either in person at Barnston Island or virtually. Participants can register for the walk and find further details on the event by visiting the charity’s website CJMAS.ca and by following the Instagram account @CJMASCares.

Funds raised through this event will be allocated to the CJMAS Legacy Fund, established in honour and remembrance of esteemed members who dedicated their lives to CJMAS’s philanthropic endeavours in the realms of health and education in Jamaica. By contributing to this fund, donors have the opportunity to amplify the legacy of these remarkable individuals while advancing critical causes that benefit communities in need in Jamaica.

“We are thrilled to take part in the virtual Vancouver Sun Run and to invite individuals and families to join us in making a meaningful difference through our fundraising walk,” said Maryann Pyne, President at CJMAS. “Together, we can honour the memory of our late members while empowering future generations through our commitment to extremely important health and education initiatives in Jamaica.”

Furthermore, CJMAS is pleased to announce that all donations exceeding $20 will receive a tax receipt, providing contributors with the added benefit of tax deductibility.

CJMAS encourages individuals, families, friends, and corporate sponsors alike to participate in this charitable endeavour. Whether walking in person or virtually, every step taken, every pledge and every donation made brings our community closer to our shared goal of creating positive and essential long-lasting change in the lives of others.
