By michelle lee ;TAN :The Afro News Ontario ,Nadine Peazer is a recipient of the Vital People Award, a grant program administered by the Toronto Community Foundation’s Vital Toronto Fund. Peazer, 28, is the founder and executive director of ANASA Collective (Always Nubian Always Scarborough Association). She works to support young, marginalized women of color in Scarborough by offering them help and mentorship in career preparation. The first career mentorship program is Fashion Phoenix, a project that takes young women through the creation of a garment through to fashion arts education. She hopes Fashion Phoenix will be a model for the development of new career mentorship programs in the future.
