Showing at the Rio Theatre, Saturday, October 8, 3:15 pm and Wednesday, October 12 at 6:30 pm, IN09 in Vancouver, BC.  For on line tickets: viff.org or theatre box offices.

Two Trains Runnin’ blends together a mystery, a search for forgotten blues singers, skillfully blended with animation and interviews with the two groups that searched for blues greats such as Skip James and Son House among others. Set across the backdrop of the American Civil Rights movement (The Freedom Summer,1964) in the Deep South, it is especially pertinent at this time of unrest and the need for all to work together for equality.

Director: Samuel D. Pollard did an excellent job blending the search with music and animation.

Writer and producer: Benjamin Hedin. I will have the honor of interviewing him on Saturday afternoon and will write more on the interview afterward.

Stars: Taylor Branch, Gary Clark Jr., Common.

I would like to congratulate all involved in the film for the exceptional work that they have done.
