 BARBADOS BANQUET

Barbados Cultural Association of BC held their Annual Independence Gala Ball on Saturday, November 13, 2010 to a packed capacity. It was a wonderful event as usual, both ladies and gentlemen were dressed to impress. Attending this event were special guests; Mr. Richard T. Lee, MLA Burnaby North, bringing greetings from the Government of BC; Mr. Pat McDonell, Councillor, acting Mayor of Burnaby, bringing greetings from The Mayor of Burnaby and Raj Chouhan, MLA (Burnaby -Edmonds), who brought greetings from the NDP Party. He injected a bit of humour as he talked about the multiculturism in Burnaby and what Barbadians had to offer Burnaby and they were wise enough to host the event in Burnaby.

Judge Selwyn Romilly and Mrs. Romilly, Dr. David Spence, and heads of Associations in BC and Mrs. Melody Bennett-Gayle, President, Friends of Jamaica, Seattle. and others.

The President of The Barbados Cultural Association of BC Mr. Eric Drayton, paid tribute to the late Prime Minister of Barbados, The Rt. Hon. David Thompson, who succumbed to cancer recently. A book was present to be signed by patrons to express their sympathies to the Government of Barbados and the Thompson family which would be handed over to Barbados later.

Eric Drayton, President, BCABC  and Pat McDonell.
