Tracy Spiridakos Home Grown Talent!

Tracy Spiridakos Home Grown Talent!

By Robert Waldman The Afro News Vancouver : My, it’s nice to see a home grown girl do well. Burnaby’s very own Tracy Spiridakos seems to be heading on the right path. Just like Michael J. Fox, another Burnaby native, Ms. Spiridakos is making the most of our local acting scene to hone her craft. Lucky for us Hollywood has noticed her big time.

Often when big budget movies come to town they seek out local talent. Cost reasons aside, true talent is the ultimate factor that wins over first casting agents and then finally directors, who make the final decision concerning who to put in movies. For a number of her young years Tracy has managed to catch the eye of local filmmakers and, more importantly, has impressed those critical executives at the studio level in California, still the centre of the show business universe.

Born on May 17, 1996, this Taurus wonder child has already amassed a series of impressive credits. Hot off a major role opposite Halle Berry in the searing Things We Lost in the Fire trailblazer, this miss earned her acting stripes through a series of locally made television series. Among her early credits are stints on local epics including The Twilight Zone, John Doe, and Stealing Christmas. With a film debut just in 2002 you can see how far this little girl has come. Big screen hits include the big budgeted The Chronicles of Riddick with he-man Vin Diesel and Edison, opposite the likes of Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey where this kid portrayed a beaten victim.

Major stars often start out young and learn their craft well. Expect to be hearing more and more from young Tracy Spiridakos as she matures into one of Hollywood’s finest actors in the not too distant future.
