With May being a special month to honour those who were instrumental and nourished me in my young life ,my Great Grandmother ,Grandmother ,Mother and Aunts who all had a hand in raising me .
Years ago daycare was not common so it was up to each woman in the family to help each other out with child care . Now as a parent today,
I realise that in our new society the challenge of being a parent is completely different as we have to adjust and care for the children without the help of a Grandmother ,Great Grandmother and other relatives .
We also have to learn to cope with the new age of an electronic society that we experience in the 21st century . The challenge of families in our time has increased as we have more responsibility to look after the betterment of our children’s present and future .
As Parents ,Educators , Leaders, Decision Makers and Intellectuals we need to take this issue seriously because the fore front of our future development is going to play very big role of integration in the future of the society .
Simply because the electronic world we are now a part of needs a better strategy and policy to guide our parents to instill and engage in active verbal and educative communication .
This lead and responsibility cannot be ignored by us and our civilization . The earlier we take action the better it is for us as a society. Family values are still the back bone for the nation and success of civilization.
I have come to appreciate much about how I was raised under the blessings of my Great Grandmother in the village that has left me with many wonderful memories . We should never take our parents for granted they are special in our life and success .
