The March dinner meeting of the Langley Chamber of Commerce was well attended due to the honourable speakers, Mayor Peter Fassbender, City of Langley and Mayor Rick Green, Township of Langley.

Mayor Fassbender was re-elected in the last municipal election and Mayor Green is new to the role. Both Mayors unveiled their strategic plans for the current term and the affects that it would sustain on the principles of economic, social and environmental ground.

Both the City and Township of Langley are slowly working to form a stronger and more unified partnership. A master plan of urbanization was completed for the downtown core of Langley City, while the Township will focus on the economic, social and environmental principles. The City, Township and Fort Langley consists of a diverse segment of land use that offers many advantages as it includes, industrial, urban and agricultural spaces as it stretches from the Fraser River to the USA border. Being situated in this parallel truly marks it as the ‘heart’ of the Fraser Valley and ‘the place to be’!
