The Afro News Classified Advertising program provides advertisers with a convenient, one step method to reach more than 1500 visitors per month for approximately $10.99 per paper per week. Simply provide The Afro News with your wording by filling out the online form and we will place it. Please contact sales@theafronews.ca for your questions, or to book an ad.
Advertising Policies
Payment for all insertions is due at the time of sale. We accept all major credit cards. If paying by check, your payment must be received and processed by the deadline for the issue you wish to appear in. The Afro News does not offer positioning guarantees in the classifieds section. Ads are placed in first come, first served order (however, there are times when we have to move an ad to better fit the layout). Ads must correspond to their proper categories. The Afro News retains the right to decline any advertisement. Each advertisement will be judged on its own merits. It is the advertiser’s responsibility to check for errors in their ads. Placing an ad in The Afro News does not guarantee response. No refunds.
The publisher reserves the right to refuse any advertising, including the right to do so after the ad has been accepted for publication but before publication occurs. Position requests are never guaranteed; however, every effort will be made to honor position requests. Advertisements partially or completely composed, but cancelled before publication will be charged according to composition time involved and materials used. Advertisers are responsible for checking advertisements on first insertion. TAN Publishing shall only be liable for mistakes in the first insertion. TAN Publishing, Inc. shall not be liable for slight changes or typographical errors that do not lessen the value of the advertisement. The publisher’s liability for other errors or omissions in connection with an advertisement is strictly limited to publication of the advertisement in any subsequent issue or refund of any monies paid for the advertisement.
Bills are handled at the time of filling out the online form, but may also be mailed at the end of the month. The advertiser is expected to pay by the 10th of the month.
Accounts are considered overdue the first of the following month, and may be turned over to a collection agency.
Online Advertising will be billed based on a limit of 500 characters for classified ad placements. Advertisers may opt in for a featured placement of their ad for an additional fee. Banner ad placements will require the advertiser to submit an image of the required dimensions for that ad placement.
The advertiser and/or advertising agency agrees to defend and indemnify the publisher against any and all liability, loss or expense arising from claims of libel, unfair competition, unfair trade practices, infringement of trademarks, copyrights, trade names, patents, or proprietary rights or violation of rights of privacy, resulting from the publication of the advertiser’s advertisement. Advertiser will be provided one tearsheet of each advertisement free of charge upon request. Additional tearsheets are available at actual cost of the tearsheet plus delivery. Advertisements created by the publisher are not considered a work for hire and the publisher retains the copyright.
