When we think about our great country, there are many things of which Canadians can be proud. One such trait is the diversity of people we live and work amongst. For multiculturalism is Canada’s badge to wear proudly.
Honourable Senator Oliver: I became a senator in 1990, and since that time, there have been enormous changes in our Canadian society and Canadians have been forced to recognize the fact that White people don’t own and run a country of 33 million people anymore.
It is essentially the same question we ask ourselves as the clock strikes midnight to announce a new year. What do we wish for? Each year we make resolutions to get fit, be better friends, have more fun, work harder, get better job satisfaction, make more time for the things and the people we love.
