“For assuredly, I say unto you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be thou removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things which he says will be come to pass, he will have whatsoever he says.”- Jesus, Mark 11:23
So many times, we consider this scripture as we pray for that which seems unmoved and unchanged, or perhaps more importantly, people who seem to remain unmoved and unchanged. I have never experienced this more strongly, than when praying for a loved one. People that are so dear to me, but are seemingly not changing at all. They go on suffering. I go on suffering, watching them suffer. Perhaps you know what I mean.
Last month, I saw a mountain be removed and crash into the sea. It was over twenty years coming. It was a mountain of addiction.
As I rejoiced, the Lord began to speak to me. He told me that when we pray, this process has begun already. He said, in the “subterranean”. That was the word he used.
The “subterranean”, is where the mountain is anchored. It is anchored, it has its foundation, below the surface of the earth. We only see the upward protrusion, the outward appearance. In the subterranean, it is held in place; there, he is working. He is causing the foundation of that mountain to be compromised. It is cracking. It is chipping, crumbling, and falling away. That which is anchoring the mountain is becoming degraded. That which is lodging the mountain below the earth’s surface, is being slowly dislodged.
The “subterranean”, that which is below the surface, must be spiritually discerned. We only focus on what we can see. Sometimes, we cannot discern the spiritual, or the subterranean, because God is keeping something private. Often, we can’t discern it because we are so busy and distracted that we can’t perceive the revelation that God is trying to get across.
What we need to accept and believe, is that no matter how long things are taking, and regardless of what does not seem to be happening, God is working. His word is trustworthy, and Jesus always said that which is true and effective.
One day, after this process had taken place for over twenty years, the mountain fell loudly and certainly into the sea with a huge splash. I had what I said. It came to pass. God had been working all along; working in the heart of, and with my loved one, to bring about that which his word says is certain.
Don’t give up.
