Andrew Nicholson attended Father Goetz Secondary School in Mississauga, Ontario.  Recruited by St. Bonaventure University in Allegany, New York in 2007, Nicholson is credited with bringing the school to the NCAA March Madness tournament for the first time in 12 years.

The 6’9”, 240 lb. Forward has awesome skills both on and off the court.  On the court; they say – he can pass, he can rebound, he can block shots and is a good three-point shooter.  Off the court; he will graduate in May with a Physics degree, earned through hard work which included giving up his summer vacations to attend summer school.  He said he did that so he wouldn’t fall behind during basketball season.  Nicholson hopes to eventually become a surgeon or physicist.  It has been suggested that if he declares for the NBA Draft he would be chosen either late in the first round or early in the second round.

In the NCAA tournamet, St. Bonaventure rated #14 in their division met #3 seed Florida State. On March 16th.  Although they held their own, in fact they led most of the game, the higher rated Florida State took over the game during the last five minutes.  The “Bonnies” fought hard but lost 66-63.  Nicholson, who fought the double-team most of the second half still ended with 20 points (including a 3-point beauty that temporarily tied the game in the dying minutes) and 7 rebounds.
