The inaugural year of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC) by all counts has been successful. Playing in small cities in Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, and in small arenas, the teams have drawn fans to prove that basketball is viable in Canada. Compared to the NBA Development League, the NBLC can provide a step up in the direction of either the NBA or a league overseas. The League is now in the playoff series with the London Lightning winning home court advantage.
