The Toronto Blue Jays honor all-star second baseman Roberto Alomar

Sports Briefs  MLB: The Toronto Blue Jays honor all-star second baseman Roberto Alomar at the Rogers Centre on July 31st.  A week prior, Alomar became the first player to enter Baseball’s Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y. wearing a Blue Jays cap.

At the ceremony, Alomar will also become the first Jays player to have his uniform number (12) retired.  Alomar spent five seasons in Toronto from 1991-1995, winning two World Series and he was selected to play in the All Star game five straight times.  Following the 1995 season he became a free agent and signed with Baltimore on a three-year contract.  He has always called Toronto his second home and chose to enter the Hall of Fame as a Blue Jay.

CFL: Ticket prices for the historic 100th Grey Cup game have been announced. Scheduled for November 25, 2012 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, tickets will range from $150-$399.  Argo season ticket holders will get first choice with access to their regular seats.  This year’s Cup takes place in Vancouver with tickets ranging from $156-436.
