Johannesburg, South Africa Journalists from the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) are participating in a two week reporting on regional integration in Southern Africa training programme to enhance their skills and knowledge on the issues affecting the region.
The training is covering the history,politics and economies of SADC and is running from 30 July to 10 August, 2012 in Johannesburg, South
Africa.
lt is being conducted by the Institute for the Advancement of Journalism (IAJ) in collaboration with the International Institute of Journalism (IIJ) of InWent Capacity Building lnternational in German. The aim of the programme is to enhance the quality of reporting on SADC
matters in the regional media, according to IAJ.
Participants will benefit from regional integration including successes and challenges. Other aspects will include SADC economic and political realities and lessons which SADC can learn from the EU crisis.
Countries participating in the programme include Botswana,DRC,Malawi, Mauritius,Namibia,South Africa,Swaziland,Zambia,Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
