The Toronto Raptors are on their way to the NBA Championship after defeating the Milwaukee Bucks 100-94 in a close game 6 of the East’s finals. Kawhi Leonard missed a few more shots than usual tonight but still led all scorers with 27 points and an amazing 17 rebounds. He got major help from Kyle Lowry, not only his 17 points but his energy and playmaking all night.
He and Leonard played a hard 41 minutes. Siakam (18 points) redeemed himself after missing two free throws in game 3 that could have avoided OT. He made two crucial ones tonight late in the 4th. Raptors need to improve their 3-point shooting. The Bucks were efficiently raining threes while Toronto was missing so many although VanVleet’s 14 points included 4.
Raptors were impressive by coming from behind by as many as 15 to take the lead in the 4th quarter and fighting hard to the end to get the win. Kawhi definitely the MVP of the series again limited Antetokounmpo to 21 points making him pass the ball and take hard shots instead of waltzing right to the rim from where he scored most of his points all season.
Game 1 of the Finals begins Thursday in Toronto against Golden State who hope to have Kevin Durant and DeMarquis Cousins back from injury. A formidable team that is capable of double doubles from all their starters combined with tough defence. But Raptors beat them twice this year. It should be a great series.
