It wasn’t pretty but the last three minutes of game 7 between the Raptors and the 76ers had a “hold your breath”type of ending. Kawhi Leonard ended up with 41points including a “buzzer-beater”winning shot. The shot hit the rim and bounced around and finally went through.
Raptors won 92-90 and the right to play Milwaukee for the Eastern championship. Both teams looked shaky from the tip-off and traded baskets and the lead all through the game.
Raptors Defence was spotty but intensified at crucial moments in the 4th quarter to keep Toronto close, tie the game, fall behind by two, tie again, go ahead, fall behind until it was 90-90 with 4 seconds remaining. Kawhi did his magic and pandemonium broke loose. Ibaka, Gasol and Lowry contributed but it was Kawhi’s game and he delivered.
For the Sixers, Jimmy Butler came alive in the second half, Joel Embiid was a threat as was JJ Reddick from 3-point range and Tobias Harris was definitely a force.
(He will be a sought after free agent this summer). So now it’s on to a new series against the fearless Bucks. A-games from tip off will be required in every game. First game is Wednesday. Go Raptors.
