Coach Jerry Stackhouse said he introduced a “work hard” ethic into the second year Raptors 905 of the D-League and the players responded.
They ended their season by defeating Houston’s farm team the Rio Grande Valley Vipers 122-96 to add the NBA Development League Championship to their list of achievements, (along with the Central Division and Eastern Conference Championships). Bruno Caboclos led with 31 points, 11 rebounds. Pascal Siakam was named MVP of the final.
He and Fred Va Vleet combined for 45 points and 12 rebounds. The performance of the 905 team gives the Toronto Raptors hope for the future as their young stars show their determination to develop into NBA-ready players.
