Basketball games resumed after a two-day postponement as a protest of the shooting of Jacob Blake by Kenosha, Wisconsin police. Three games were played and two teams move on to the semi finals.
MILWAUKEE 118 ORLANDO 104:
The Bucks win the series 4-1: Orlando behind 67-50 at the half picked it up in the 3rd quarter bringing the score to within 3 points. Milwaukee took over the game led by Giannis Anteteokounmpo with 28 points 15 rebounds and Kris Middleton with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
The Magic’s Nikola Vucevic struggled. He shot 9 for 25 but still managed 22 points as Orlando’s top scorer. T-Ross added 13 points with 3 of 5 three pointers. Milwaukee meets Miami in the semi finals Monday at 6:30pm EST.
HOUSTON 114 OKLAHOMA 80
OKC kept it close, behind by only 3 (48-45) at the half. The second half was all Rockets led by James Harden with 31 points and James Covington with 22. OKC’s Dennis Schroeder had 19 points before being ejected along with Houston’s PJ Tucker in the 3rd quarter and the team ended with a dismal 7 of 46 from 3 point range. Houston leads the series 3-2. Game 6 is Monday at 9pm EST.
LA LAKERS 131 – PORTLAND 122
The Lakers win the series 4-1. The Trail Blazers made a valiant effort playing without an injured Damon Lillard and a rotation of only eight players.
They tied the game at 68 at the half and at 109 late in the 4th. Carmelo Anthony had 18 points at the half and despite being in foul trouble most of the 2nd half contributed 27 total points. CJ McCallum had a team high 36 points.
For the Lakers Anthony Davis had 43 to go along with LeBron James’ triple double- 36 points 10 rebounds 10 assists. The Lakers will meet the winner of the Houston-OKC series in the semi finals.
