A Film to See!     On Now! Canadian Premiere: Nakom, at the Rio , Sunday, October 9th at the Rio in Vancouver!

Sponsored by TAN, The AFRO NEWS.

This challenging award winning  film shows the contrast between village  life in rural Ghana and the city.  Actor Jacob Ayanaba does a great job in portraying a medical student who is called back to the family farm after his father’s death.  Pulled by cultural ties and expectations,  Jacob Ayanaba (Iddrisu) must decide to confirm with his family’s wishes or to go back and pursue his education in city.

Actresses  Grace Ayariga and Justina Kulidu plus others  provide a fascinating  cultural background in present day Ghana.

The weaving of tradition, familial duty, caring and the powerful need to secure his future as a medical doctor provide a conflict that is being played out all over the world in this thought provoking film.

Starring Jacob Ayanaba as Iddrisu, Justina Kulidu as Senior Mother, Shetu Mussah as Junior Mother, Grace Ayariga as Damata, Aziz Abdul as Kamal, Esther Issaka as Fatima, Mamudu Asigiri as Sumailah and Thomas Kulidu as Napolean the film present a vivid tapestry of life.

Nakom won the Audience Award at the  Durban International Film Festival 2016

Written by T.W. Pittman; Directed by T.W. Pittman and Kelly Daniela Norris. Subtitles in English.
