“The 30-member troupe proves that joy is nondenominational…
Soweto Gospel Choir makes our world seem beautifully small.” – O Magazine

Two-time Grammy award winners Soweto Gospel Choir return to Vancouver with their new show “DIVINE”. Through vibrant rhythm movement and its renowned vocal harmonies, Soweto Gospel Choir’s inimitable performance style has become a worldwide phenomenon. Since its foundation in 2002, the 30-person Choir has performed to sell-out crowds at the greatest concert halls across the globe and alongside superstars including Bono, Queen, Celine Dion, John Legend, Peter Gabriel, Josh Groban, Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder.

As highly regarded as they are for their music, the Choir is equally celebrated for their work in supporting AIDS orphans and families affected by the AIDS pandemic in South Africa. The choir supports the Nkosi’s Haven/Vukani foundation, which feeds and clothes affected individuals, pays for funerals of needy families, and assists numerous young children who are orphaned by AIDS. Through touring worldwide the choir has raised international awareness of the effects of this disease, and has supported numerous charities providing relief to suffering communities.

The Choir has sold previous appearances in Vancouver, so don’t miss out on this uplifting and vivacious spectacle that literally takes your breath away!

“There’s something naturally uplifting about hearing a daring, improvisatory belter suddenly enfolded by a community of singers…the South African songs are both spirited and spectacular” – New York Times
