Humanity Drowning

Reflection transformed into a powerful, spoken-word style poem
Where is the leader we once knew?
The one we looked up to
not for power,
but for truth?
Once, a voice could rise above the noise.
A light in the dark,
a mind with vision,
a heart with courage.
A soul that carried hope.
But now
We’re watching the collapse in real time.
In this siècle of wealth and machines,
where we count likes more than lives,
and speak more than we feel
I ask, at 3:03 AM:
Where did we go wrong?
Why do we behave like strangers
to our own humanity?
Why is it easier to build weapons
than to build understanding?
Where did the hunger to kill begin,
and when did we stop believing
that kindness is strength?
Look around.
The youth are watching.
Frustrated.
Confused.
Learning from our silence
and our noise.
And what do we show them?
Leaders chasing shadows,
souls sold for distraction,
mirages of greatness
with no ground beneath.
But beneath all this,
there is still truth.
Still one civilization:
the human one.
Undeniable.
Unshakable
if we choose to stand on it.
There is no other path now
but integrity.
No other compass
but conscience.
So the question remains:
Will we rise
or will we drown?
The tide is ours to turn.
The future is watching.
And hope…
still whispers.
