By michelle-lee : City Developer David Green and his brother Barry operate Greenrock Property
Management. In 2008 the company built Mosaic Condominiums at 736 Spadina Avenue in Toronto. The
condo is next door to the Jewish Community Centre. Between the two buildings is an alley that has now
been converted into a green space that includes art, flowers and a bench. David Green, who is 65, said
he loved Jimi Hendrix’s music and believed it had a great influence on much of his generation. He
decided to honor Hendrix by naming the tiny park the Jimi Hendrix Sculpture Garden. The park also
features a metre-high bronze sculpture of two giant clasped hands called “People Helping People” which
was made by Green’s father Al. The sculpture is meant to depict helping people with a hand up instead
of a handout said David Green.
