On April 10th at 7:00 pm I am hosting a fundraising event called “Fight The Fire” located at The Burnaby Winter Club. Every dollar for this event is going to go right into the pockets of the fire victims of 404 Ash St in New Westminister. 31 units were destroyed and sadly no one has renters insurance.

This night will have a musical performance by powerhouse vocalist Marika @marikaonline — a singer song writer who will warm the audience’s heart followed by Shane’s Teeth, A six person band that will get everyone to the dance floor. Love to Laugh? We have two stand-up comedians: Clifford Prang @CliffPrang and James Idol @jimmyjidol –They live to entertain. I want everyone to have a blast, raise a ton of money and close out the week right. Complimentary appetizers will be provided by Drew Cooks Catering @DrewCooks — That will make your taste buds pop. Entry will be by donation that way you can donate as much as you want.

Imagine losing every single possession, every photo and keepsake just wiped out from under you. This is what happened to over forty people on January 31 2014. Beginning at 1:00 am a very aggressive fire leveled an apartment complex destroying thirty one units in New Westminister.

I am employed with The Canadian Traffic Network and when I am needed, fly in the News 1130 airplane as a member of their “Air Patrol” By the time we flew over New Westminister ready for a full report there was hardly anything left. You could see even from 1500 ft. that this building could not be salvaged. Fire crews surrounded the building and the surrounding streets were blocked.

When we touched down and my shift was over I remember thinking to myself “I want to help them” In 2005 I also lost everything when my moving truck caught on fire in Coquitlam, nothing was left but someone gave me $1,000. I will never forget how thankful I was. My mind was made up when I later found out that the victims of 404 Ash St have no renters insurance. Let the planning begin.

My goal is to raise $10,000, Come out and help fight the fire!
