Enchanted Evenings Concert Series
Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden
Fridays, July 10th – September 4th 2009

Vancouver, BC (June 7th, 2009) – Enchant your evenings with the critically acclaimed annual concert series at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden every Friday night starting July 10th through September 4th 2009. Now in its 16th season, The Enchanted Evenings concerts will introduce dynamic new performers to its roster of returning favourites. Come and enjoy a variety of sounds and sensations in a harmonious setting, including classical, world, Asian, Gypsy jazz, Celtic, African and fusion music. Doors open at 7:00pm, and all shows begin at 7:30pm. Tickets are $18 for non-members and $15 for Garden Society members. A season pass to see all nine performances is $125.00. Reservations are recommended. Enjoy Friday nights in the beautiful Garden listening to wonderful live music.

Concert Schedule

July 10 Tambura Rasa -Packed with fiery Spanish guitar, fully vibrant Baladi Gypsy string section, burning Afro-Latin percussion and sensual Flamenco and Belly dancers, this 8-piece act raises the roof of any concert grounds they land on.

July 17 Hot Club of Mars – Classic Gypsy jazz tunes with style, rhythm and energy that gets your feet yearning for a dance floor.

Enjoy hot swing favorites, with sultry ballads by chanteuse Deanna Knight, original instruments and sizzling tangos.

July 24 Masabo Culture Company – This dynamic ensemble of hereditary West African master musicians and dancers fills the air with soaring melodies and driving rhythms. The performance is a feast of traditional songs and stories, athletic dance, and absolutely stunning musicianship.
