On this beautiful sunny morning of march 2020 as I sit down soaking in the unfolding situation of the global pandemic fear of Coronavirus and contemplating on the human nature’s approach knowing this is an invisible disease attacking humanity; a possible weapon of destruction of global bio terrorism.
There’s one thing that strikes me as odd in the human race and that is why have we advanced so much in the mindset of greediness and selfishness as the focus on money is more prevalent even when we are now facing uncertainty of life and death; but it all points back to the almighty dollar.
As a society we are doing the unthinkable things even though we live in a county with plenty we refuse to share and be empathetic towards the needs of others.
In this critical time some people amass things for themselves buying multi cases of groceries forgetting the need of others or share if you have plenty but it doesn’t sound familiar as we observe day by day this scenario across many communities
It doesn’t matter in this pandemic crisis how much money you have in your bank account, what is your family name , if you are flying first or economy class, how beautiful or handsome you are, what address you live at, the size of your bedroom or your house, how many shoes you have, what position you are in your workplace or in life, how much money you get paid a day or year, or if you use toilet paper or corn cob to clean yourself , what color your skin is or what ethnicity you are how short or tall you are ,if you own a house condo or mansion even sleeping on cardboard, from the valley or lower mainland, from Europe, Africa, America, Australia, Asia this is the reality of humans as the danger for dying is universal we come into this earth with empty hand and will leave, die empty-handed.
The truth of the matter is as we continue to evolve we become selfish as humans on the planet only focus on making money all about dollars and forgot the essence of our humanity how to care for each other share opportunity and resources.
This is a wake up call and opportunity for all humanity to change what we are doing to this earth.
Who are we as government ? What do we stand for ? How prepared are we? What does humanity represent on this earth?
I hope you take this opportunity of the social distance time to reflect and truly ask yourself what exactly is going on and protect yourself, your family, friends and community by sharing what you have if needed and look after and look out for one another.
Even when we get the billions of dollars of emergency relief funds there’s one thing that’s certain about this pandemic is the fear of death doesn’t discriminate.
Be smart, be safe and be kind to humankind.
