A decade ago the media business operated on a very different platform.

Print, radio and television media were their own segments, but with the growing abilities of the internet and social media websites the segments of the various types of media has some closer ties and the opportunity to share news across the various platforms and the world is much more visible and to a much larger market segment.

While we faced our challenges in the print media business with the slow down of economic factors we did not give up but continued to grow and emerge and bring you news, inspiring articles and community information through our online portal.

We have contributed to our environmental obligation of saving our forests and no longer use newsprint paper and opted to bring you up to the minute current news on a digital platform.

The recent upheaval, disdain and accusations brought onto the media industry has left us feeling proud that our mission to be the ‘voice of unity’ and ‘building bridges amongst cultures and communities’ holds true and is needed today more than ever!

It’s not ironic nor is it co-incidental that Privilege Group Holdings, Publisher of The Afro News has an anniversary in February; the month that has been declared as Black History Month across the globe.

This year marks our 10 year Anniversary of promoting diversity, democracy, unity, community and the voice of all cultures and creed.

We will continue to stand firm in our mission and hereby thank all of our readers and supporters for an amazing 10 years of bringing you news and events.

Live, Laugh, Love, Embrace for we are one people, one world.
