Pauline Long, who was born in Kenya, and now lives in England, was recently named along with eleven other women as one of the most powerful and inspirational Black women in Europe.
Pauline Long is the founder of the BEFFTA Awards. BEFFTA celebrates and honours Black and ethnic personalities in the entertainment industry (film, fashion, television and the arts). She is a mentor for many youth in the industry and supports unsigned artists through her award-winning film studio, East End Studios. She is also the founder of the Mr. and Miss East Africa UK Beauty Pageant.
The celebration dinner was organized and hosted by media icon and veteran broadcaster Princess Deun Adedoyin-Solarin who said of the entrepreneur and young mother of two, “Pauline Long is a class act lady who is always celebrating people in our community. Today is our opportunity to celebrate her achievements and kindness.”
Long and her BEFFTA team are currently busy working on BEFFTA Caribbean in Jamaica, which is scheduled to launch on February 9th and are preparing to launch BEFFTA Africa, Canada and Australia. BEFFTA UK’s Grand 5th year anniversary will take place on 26th October 2013 in London, England.
