The Black Business and Professional Association (BBPA) announced the 2012 recipients of their Distinguished Men of Honour Awards. The awards recognize exemplary Canadian men whose outstanding contributions to their profession and community have paved the way for others. “The 2012 honourees reflect a diverse group of men whose accomplishments serve as encouragement to the Black community, and they are truly deserving of the Men of Honour distinction” said Pauline Christian, President of BBPA.
The 2012 Recipients:
Al St. Louis – Spoken Word artist, actor and Motivational Educator
Kardinal Offinshall – Rapper, Songwriter, record producer
Jamaal Magloire – NBA basketball player,
Mark Beckles – Regional Vice-President RBC
Marlon Reid – Vice-President – Investment Banking, TD
Nathan Downer – Remote Host, Anchor, CP 24 (TV)
Dwight Drummond – News Anchor, Co-Host, CBC News Toronto
Lytton Barrett – CEO, Brantville Construction
Julian Falconer – Lawyer, Bencher of the Law Society of Upper Canada
Mark Cummings – Senior VP and Head, Insurance Canada, Scotiabank.
The ceremony was held March 27th at the Pantages Hotel in Toronto.
