This ‘Unstoppable’ Mom of three, pre and teenage children, is the coolest hippest and amazing one I know! Before she happened upon acting she debuted her talents as a Singer Song Writer and produced several #1 hit singles and albums.
Marika Siewert, aka Rika Siewert in the music world, recently acted in a documentary style feature length film, playing a Supporting Lead Role. The story of the film was written and produced by AJ Lutsky, a young rising Film Director, based in Vancouver. Siewert’s role is that of a TV Movie Producer who captures the story of a group of ‘female gamers’ and then becomes one herself in the film.
Like any generational movie script and especially one that focuses on the ‘in thing of today’s generation’ a new and separate language is developed and is not known to the people that are not followers of the ‘in thing of today’s generation’. For example, how many Moms or people in general know what the word NOOBS mean?
According to Lutsky, NOOBS is a newbie Gamer or more properly described as a person who is inexperienced in a particular sphere or activity, especially computing or the use of the internet. Lutsky’s story and film is based on this very concept and is centred on female relationships in the world of gaming!
In Siewert’s own words: “Noobs was a really fun movie to be a part of; the Director was fun, and a lot of immense talent was at work”. She went on to say that Independent Films don’t have so many rules and criteria and she was able to suggest that the profanity should be limited as it would allow it to be viewed by a wider and younger audience. One can only say that this is the insights of a wise Mother; Marika’s children think she is totally cool having the gamers language down pat!
While this documentary style feature film goes through its editing stage, Marika doesn’t waste any time; she is actively engaged in a lineup of TV Commercials being filmed here in Vancouver. In February 2019 she will join Phil Callaway as a Special Guest Artist on the 5th Anniversary Cruise, Laugh Again, a Christian Event, for a 7-day Western Caribbean cruise aboard the Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas.
Rika Siewert, is the busiest Mom I know, raising children and keeping her talents sharpened at every turn of opportunity – she is simply ‘Unstoppable’ and lives to tell her story!
