Coquitlam’s Shiloh Place Orphanage Society is thisclose to completing the security wall for their property in Lubumbashi, DRC. “Past donations from caring people here and a supportive business in Lubumbashi have allowed this construction work to move forward. This major project has provided employment and experience to local people. The completed wall will provide security and freedom from vandalism for our classrooms, our community centre/chapel, and other buildings on our site” said Chantal Kasongo, society founder, of Coquitlam, BC.
Her recent, self-funded visit to Shiloh Place allowed Kasongo to meet with the teachers and students, the workers on the wall, and the team of Shiloh Place supporters who live in Lubumbashi. “In order to finish this important safety project, we are campaigning throughout July, asking people to ‘buy a brick’ (or more than one) at $15 each”.
