On Thursday March 26th the Canadian Icon known as Maestro-Fresh Wes celebrated his 41st birthday with industry friends and family at his 4th annual Media Benefit & Birthday Bash held at Caprice Nightclub (967 Granville Street). The night was a success with many familiar and popular personalities coming through to celebrate the birthday of a Canadian music legend. The 20 year anniversary party, also gave attendees a chance to reminisce as the birthday boy himself performed some of his greatest hits, including the 1989 classic “Let Your Backbone Slide” alongside long-time friend, Red 1 (Rascalz), “Red has been a good friend of mine for a long time, I even knew him before he even had the dreads, I knew him back when he just had them lil’ twists!” joked Maestro. The Godfather of Canadian hip hop made sure it was an entertaining evening for everyone in attendance, all while helping a good cause; The Pathfinder Youth Centre Society, which partial proceeds from the night went to.
